Two Roots — Avijjā & Taṇhā အဝိဇ္ဇာ & တဏှာ အဝိဇ္ဇာ • တဏှာ Avijjā • Taṇhā Kilesa-vaṭṭa (Defilements) Avijjā — Ignorance အဝိဇ္ဇာ Not knowing Four Noble Truths; starts the chain (avijjā → saṅkhārā). Segment: Past Cause Taṇhā — Craving တဏှာ Grasping or pushing away (kāma/bhava/vibhava-taṇhā); leads to upādāna → bhava. Segment: Present Cause Vedanā ဝေဒနာ Vedanā paccayā Taṇhā Vedanā paccayā Paññā (Vipassanā) Cut here: Vedanā → Taṇhā • Avijjā → Saṅkhāra (past cause → present result) • Vedanā → Taṇhā (present result → present cause) • Uproot Avijjā with Paññā; guard Vedanā → Taṇhā with Sati.
